Mobile phone coverage may be affected and spray and travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers, with possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel

Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and some rural communities could become cut off.
Forecast:
Rain, sleet and snow will continue through the morning, increasingly turning to rain at low levels with icy stretches possible for a time.
Conditions are expected to dry up from 2pm onwards with clear spells and sunshine from 3pm to 5pm.
