Residents woke up to darkness this morning as a wild night of storms, heavy rain and even snow caused the power to go off.
Snow and wind has affected the power supply to the town which went off in the early hours, leaving homes and businesses across the town and surrounding villages without electricity, hot water and heating.
Electricity companies were frantically trying to restore the supply as some shops opened up as best they could while other businesses were unable to get going.
Power was on and off throughout the night before going off at around 5am.
It had been restored to some parts of the town at around 8am but the villages were still without a supply at lunchtime.
The Scoresby statue also fell victim to the foul weather and was blown down on Tuesday night with some people saying it was a miracle no-one was injured or killed.
