Update: A171 re-opens between Scarborough and Whitby

The A171 has re-opened after an overturned lorry was cleared from the road, following huge delays.

There were big tailbacks this morning after the vehicle blocked a lane at Pond Hill, which meant the road had to be closed as it was recovered.

Police thanked drivers for their patience as many motorists were forced to head for the A169 to get to Scarborough from Whitby.
