Pedestrian and motorcyclist seriously hurt after bike leaves road

A woman pedestrian has been seriously injured after a motorbike crashed into her in Robin Hood’s Bay.

She was one of a number of people that were hit by the bike when it left the road at around 1pm yesterday (Friday) on Thorpe Lane, Robin Hood’s Bay.

The 44 year-old was taken to Scarborough Hospital with what the police have described as “serious injuries”.

The rider of the motorcycle, a black and orange KTM 265, was a 31 year-old local man who was heading in the direction of Fylingthorpe.

He also sustained serious injuries and was also taken to Scarborough for treatment.

None of the other pedestrians were seriously injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and for anyone who saw the motorcycle prior to the incident to contact them with information.
