FRIENDS of Whitby Lifeboat hosted a coffee morning on 12 December, where they heard carols sung by students of West Cliff School.
The event was held at the Royal Hotel, who provided mince pies and cakes. There was also a raffle and a ‘name the bear’ competition, but FOWL member Sandra Smith said the highlight of the event was a visit by a choir of 18 children from West Cliff School. She added: “They sang some lovely Christmas songs and everyone was able to sing along with carols.”
The event raised £167.50 to help fund Whitby’s RNLI lifeboat station and volunteers.
