THE STORY on pages 22-23 of last Friday’s Gazette (1 April) entitled “New idea offers congestion relief” was a completely fictional April Fool and has, to the best of our knowledge, no basis in fact.

Some of the more eagle-eyed of readers spotted the puns behind the names Joe King and Liza Plenty, although the more cryptic names Beattie Spencer and Willow Oakes in fact referred to pets owned by some of the Gazette staff.
