Corsa for concern

THE DRIVER of a Vauxhall Corsa was taken to Scarborough Hospital on Wednesday (8 June) after his vehicle rolled over on the A171 near Stainsacre.

The incident occurred at the Summerfield Lane junction at approximately 7pm.

The man, thought to be in his 60s and from the Filey area, was taken to Scarborough Hospital with severe spine, head and face injuries.

Fire crews from Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby attended the scene and were able to free the man from his vehicle by removing the car’s roof.

There were not thought to be any more vehicles involved in the incident.
