Bridlington train station to undergo a multi-million pound overhaul to make facilities more accessible and improve passengers' experiences

The scheduled overhaul will provide a new footbridge with lifts which will ensure all the station's platforms will be far more accessible.
By the summer of 2023, passengers with limited mobility, pushchairs, bikes or heavy luggage will be able to use the station with more ease.

Hide AdAnna Weeks, principal programme sponsor for Network Rail, said: “People can expect to see a lot more activity at Bridlington Station, as we get ready to deliver an accessible footbridge and key station improvements to improve the customer experience.
“We’re working with our partners at Northern and the Department for Transport to transform the station with the minimum impact on passengers.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the improved bridge start to take shape and officially open next summer.”
At the start of December a temporary footbridge will be installed to ensure all platforms are accessible while the transformative work is carried out.

Hide AdThe majority of the £4.6m investment has been funded by the “Access for All” programme that the Department of Transport has spearheaded.
The station’s roof will also be refurbished with an additional £1.3m investment, which will majorly improve the experience of all passengers at Bridlington station.
Huw Merrima, Rail Minister, said: “We’re making this investment in Bridlington Station to ensure those with additional needs can travel with confidence.
“Our ‘Access for All’ programme is improving hundreds of stations across the country, so local passengers can make the most of our rail network.”
