A toddler who fell off the harbour wall at Staithes - a 20 feet drop - was talking about Peppa Pig and his favourite tv characters by the time emergency services got to him.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called because of where he had fallen.

But when the crew arrived he was in “good spirits” and was able to answer questions about his favourite tv show.

The drama unfolded at around 1pm on Wednesday but he suffered only what appear to have only been minor injuries.

The tot was then taken to James Cook Hospital by land ambulance with doctors from the air ambulance team travelling with him for observation.
