A taxi smashed through railings and was left hanging over the backyard of a flat in Whitby.

Firefighters from Whitby and Lythe were called to Park Terrace at its junction with Fishburn Road at 3.31pm on Friday to stabilise the vehicle after the accident.
They said the car had left the road, crashed through some railings and was left teetering over the backyard of a basement flat.
One of the car's passengers had to be helped out by firefighers.
The driver and another passenger were already out by the time crews arrived.
