Staff and patients from Sleights surgery raised £1,544.30 for MacMillan which was handed over last week.

The money came from a fun day at Churchfield Surgery last month which ended up turning into a gala open to the public.

Two staff members were sponsored to dye their hair and some staff even gave up their day off to help with prizes, cakesand cash while the Patient Participation Group provided refreshments throughout the day.

Together with the usual raffle, tombola and cakes there was a treasure hunt, hook a duck, bric a brac, “interesting liquids”, guess many sweets in the jar, fairy card readings, reflexology, sunflower seed planting to name just a few of the activities.
