POP siren Sophie Ellis-Bextor will support Erasure at their Dalby Forest gig in June, it has been announced.

The 31-year-old singer has a string of hits to her name including Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me), Murder on the Dancefloor and Groovejet, her collaboration with DJ Spiller, which famously beat Victoria Beckham to the number one spot in their chart battle in 2000.

She will be the special guest on every night the award-winning Erasure duo of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell’s forest tour, including their Dalby date on Saturday 25 June.

Sophie said: “I am really looking forward to supporting Erasure on the June dates of their Total Pop! Forest tour.

“I can’t wait to get out in the woods.”

Erasure, whose hits include A Little Respect, Sometimes, Victim of Love and Ship of Fools, will be making their return to the stage after more than four years away from recording and live performance.

Simple Minds have also confirmed they will be performing at Dalby the previous evening as part of their Greatest Hits Forest Tour.

The acts will play in a natural tree-lined auditorium within the 8,600 acres of Dalby Forest.

They will be following in the footsteps of stars such has Paul Weller, Keane, Embrace, Travis and The Zutons, who have all rocked the outdoor venue in the past few years.
