Would you like a jam-packed weekend representing the town at the biggest event of the year?

That is the job of Miss Regatta and there is still time to be in with a chance of taking the crown for this year’s sea festival.

It is one of the town’s oldest and most popular traditions and the search is on for the perfect girl for the role.

Duties over Regatta weekend, which this year is Saturday August 20 to Monday August 22, include presenting awards at Bonny Baby and Glamorous Gran contests, leading the Monday fancy dress parade and handing over the all-important rowing awards and being around town over the weekend.

A special evening to crown Miss Regatta is being held at the Yacht Club on Wednesday June 15 and entries for Miss Regatta candidates have to be in by May 31.
