A CHERISHED Whitby pet is back with her family after ferreting around on a big adventure.
Ronnie, a six-month-old ferret, gave owner Kerri Hutchinson serious claws for concern after disappearing from her home in Stainsacre.
Little Ronnie went missing earlier this month leaving Kerri distraught and fellow ferret Pop pining for her partner.
The fearless ferret’s flight of fancy lasted nearly a week before Henry, a terrier dog from the Windmill Inn, sniffed her out under a nearby pigeon loft.
A delighted Kerri said: “Ronnie is absolutely fine and is full of life and Pop is definitely happy to see her again because they do everything together.
“She’d managed to push open the door on her cage and we looked everywhere when we realised she had gone but struggled because it was so dark.
“It’s great to have her back, she was cold when we found her and she couldn’t stop eating when we got her home.
“A huge thank you to the Whitby Gazette, and to all the locals of Stainsacre who have helped to reunite us.
“I’ve had so many people contacting me to say they’ve been searching gardens and the cinder track for her and wishing me luck.
“Shows what a tight knit caring community we have here in Whitby, and it makes me so happy and proud to be a Yorkshire lass.”
