FANS of vintage vehicles and the Heartbeat TV series were in for a treat at the weekend when a line up of sixties cars rolled into Goathland.
The village taxi, old police cars and mini vans were among the old cars forming the display which had been organised by Phil Hopkinson of Aidensfield Stores.
It was the first time such an event has taken place and to help get visitors into the swinging sixties mood bands were playing at Goathland station.
Actor David Lonsdale who played David Stockwell was also in town signing Heartbeat calendars which have been printed to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance and the National Kidney Federation.
Mr Hopkinson said: “It was a tremendous success and certainly on the Saturday a lot of people were here to meet David and buy a calendar.
“We made about £500 and we are going to make it up so that we give both charities £500 each.
“Some of the cars came from a long distance away and on the Sunday there were cars that weren’t part of the display but joined in.
“The vehicles were a big part of Heartbeat and to see those used in the actual programme was interesting for a lot of people.”
