Revised cottage extension gets go-ahead

A PLAN for an extension to a cottage in Ugglebarnby replacing a garage and outbuilding was approved by members of the North York Moors National park planning committee.

The application was made by Richard Perry of Cliff Cottage, Ugglebarnby and was an amended version of an earlier one that planning officers had decided was too overbearing.

There was an objection to the amended plan from a neighbour who claimed it would encroach on neighbouring buildings and would not fit in with the general architecture of the village.

Planning officers, recommending approval said that in its amended form the extension would not significantly detract from the character and appearance of the cottage nor have an unduly detrimental effect on the amenities of the neighbouring property.
