TWO sisters who have set themselves the target of raising £5000 for Cancer Research are half way there thanks to regulars at the Fisherman’s Club.

Around £1500 was made on the night at the local fisherman’s Christmas bash with money still coming in.

It brings the total raised by Sam Smith and her sister Vickki Hall to £2500.

They were helped out on the night by Joan Cole, Kath Hall and Judith Locker who organised the raffle and Christine Taylor and Nicola who did the buffet.

Raffle prizes ranged from a 37 inch colour television to a jet bracelet from CWS Sellor.

The sisters also thanked the town’s four fishing boats - Abbie Lee, Good Intent, Emulate and Copious adding that “without these the event probably would not exist”.
