THE BRITISH Red Cross is looking for volunteers to join their team for the BUPA Great North Run.
Max Newton, community fund-raiser for Yorkshire, said: “Over 50,000 people of all ages and abilities will be running this spectacular course to raise funds for charity.
“I took part myself for the first time last year, in a silly costume, and can vouch that the run, atmosphere, and race-day experience is simply phenomenal.”
The event takes place on Sunday 18 September and members of the Yorkshire Red Cross team will receive training and race support, a sponsorship pack, a Red Cross running vest and a post race reception and massage.
Mr Newton added: “It’s an experience you will never forget, and you will help us helps people in crisis in Whitby, across the UK and overseas.”
There are limited places and entry fee is £46 with a £300 sponsorship target.
The Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon and runners will race 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields.
