WHITBY’S only Miss Scarborough entrant has been forced to withdraw after landing a plum role aboard a Disney cruiseship.
Katie Botham (24), is eager to encourage other Whitby girls to take her place and bring the crown back to Whitby.
She said: “I really hope someone else can enter instead.
“If I could do both I would, but I’m going on the cruise ship at the end of June so it wouldn’t be right.
Miss Botham, who’s family runs Botham’s bakery has danced for Disney before, but this role is slightly different.
She added: “It’s going to be the general entertainment shows.
There are two cruise ships, one sails to the Bahamas and the other is soon to be sailing to Alaska for the first time.
I’m still waiting to find out which ship I’m on but it’s very exciting.
