A giant pumpkin is currently on display on Whitby seafront to help raise money for the RNLI.
Dan Griff is running a 'guess the weight of the pumpkin' competition for £1 per guess at the lifeboat museum until Halloween.
He said: "The RNLI do a fantastic job, I own a boat and have needed them myself in the past when I broke down at sea.
"If it wasn’t for the RNLI who else would risk their life to save yours and not even get paid for doing it.
"I thought I would just try and give a little back and try and do something for them."
The competition winner will receive a £100 Goldsmiths voucher.
