New homes for Aislaby?

Residents in Aislaby are being consulted by the borough council on whether they think there is a need for affordable housing for local people to rent or buy in the village.

Questionnaires are being delivered to all households in the Aislaby parish and the council says without evidence of what local people want, affordable housing schemes, which help keep open community services such as village schools, pubs and shops, cannot be built.

Other parishes in the North York Moors National Park have done similar surveys which revealed demand for affordable homes for local people and resulted in schemes being built in Danby, Castleton, Hinderwell and Glaisdale.
