The comprehensive survey, which launched earlier this month, aims to measure the impact of coronavirus on local businesses.

It is also being used to gather intelligence on what additional support businesses need and what help they and business support organisations might be able to offer within their communities.

The answers provided by businesses will be used to lobby for more support for businesses at a regional and national level and prepare a recovery plan for the borough’s economy for the short, medium and long term.

This will include working with the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and sector led support organisations.

The feedback will also be used to help the council shape its own recovery and business support policies, as well as understand how help from within the local business community could be harnessed to best effect.

The survey can be completed online at scarborough.gov.uk/consultation up to and including Tuesday May 26.
