Police name motorcyclist who died in A171 accident
Police have named the 70-year-old motorcyclist who died after his motorbike collided with a barrier on Birk Brow hill on the A171.
Rod Byers hit the barrier as he came round the first corner while travelling with a group from Whitby towards Teesside on Sunday.
Mr Byers, from Jarrow in Tyne and Wear, later died of his injuries in James Cook University Hospital.
