Eleven-year-old Imogen Moon decided to go ahead with the chop after hearing about the Little Princess Trust a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Imogen is delighted with her new look, after Lisa at VIP's salon in Whitby cut her hair much shorter.

Her mum Jenny said: "Imogen’s hair is currently traveling by post to the trust. We as a family are so proud of her."

VIP's added on their Facebook page: "Well done to this little girl, who donated her luscious long hair to the little Princess Trust.

"Absolutely amazing - she should be so proud of herself."

Fylingdales School pupil Imogen said she felt bad that other children who have been really poorly wouldn't get those compliments about their hair.

Donations are still coming in and there is plenty of time to donate towards the £550 target.

The website is being kept open until August 1 if you'd like to donate - click here.
