Spokesperson Sharon Hall of Unleashed Events said: “We are very sorry but Whitby Unleashed has been postponed until Sunday November 21, 2021.

"Whitby Pavilion has been closed since March 2020 and even if HM Government guidelines change for the better they can't see themselves opening as a venue before 2021 and because of this we have taken the difficult joint decision to postpone.

"We really wanted this event and all of our other events in 2020 to happen and we worked so hard behind the scenes to try to get a great Covid-19 secure event up and running, but sadly it wasn’t to be.

"Unleashed Events aren't just for all you geeks who want to get out and get your geek on, it is also for all the people who need to trade to keep their business from going under and to keep their jobs."

Sharon added: “Once again we are very sorry, this is an unprecedented and challenging situation and we are trying to do the best for all of our customers.

"Thank you all for your continued support, we hope to see you all soon!”
