Route YC helps visitors explore a choice of six destinations along the Yorkshire Coast, including Spurn Point to the coves of Whitby, the golden sandy beaches of Hornsea and Bridlington and everything in between, including Scarborough, Filey and Withernsea.From driving and sailing to bikes, hikes and wildlife-spotting, the team at Route YC wants to encourage families to create their own outdoor adventure around the Yorkshire coast and countryside this spring as well as spend more time getting off the beaten track to discover what the region has to offer.
The focus of the campaign is on sustainable and eco-friendly tourism; cultural immersion and local experiences; adventure and outdoor activities; wellness and relaxation; and food and drink tourism.
5. Splash Zone at Bridlington's East Riding Leisure
The Pool features two state-of-the-art water slides, a splash and play zone and swimming pool. There is an interactive water slide AquaSmash where you score points by touching the coloured sensors while sliding down. And lets you discover which family member sets the best score of the day. There is also a red speed slide where you can clock you times on the digital scoreboard. Alternatively, you can get drenched under the Supersplash bucket or soak everyone with rotating water cannons. 6. SEA LIFE Scarborough
Feed the seals at SEA LIFE Scarborough on a very special VIP experience. You'll get up close to Pendle, Ed, Boo and Mando the resident seals before the park opens. Afterwards, you can have a 'fintastic' breakfast and a hot drink in the café followed by a 1-hr private tour with your guide plus all-day entry to Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre. 7. RSPB Bempton Cliffs
Go birdwatching at RSPB Bempton Cliffs and spot thousands of nesting birds. Borrow a backpack with binoculars and spotters guides from the RSPB centre and help your young people get excited about bird identification. Bempton Cliffs is a beautiful spot, with white cliffs, wildflowers and spectacular sea views which makes it an ideal home to gannets, kittiwakes and even puffins. 8. Sewerby Hall & Gardens
Step back in time with a visit to Sewerby Hall. Built in the Georgian era with later additions, the house is now presented as an Edwardian country house. Children can dress up in Edwardian clothing, interact with costumed guides and play with Edwardian toys. Outside there are over 50 acres of gardens to explore, and a zoo!
