Firefighters rescue trapped horse at Sneaton, near Whitby

Firefighters were called to help a horse stuck near Whitby last night.

Crews from Whitby were joined by North Yorkshire Fire Services's specialist animal rescue team to help the creature trapped in a horse box by a securing bar at Sneaton at 8.49pm.

A vet sedated the horse so that fire crews could cut the bar and release the animal into the care of its owners unharmed.
