Facials, hand massages, music and a therapy dog on February's dementia train

February's Forget-me-not dementia train promises a host of activities for those living with dementia and their carers.

The train, which departs from Whitby Station at 11.58am,on Wednesday February 5, travels along the Esk Valley line to Middlesbrough, arriving at 13.30, before returning to Whitby for 15:38.

Passengers are encouraged to join at any station along the line which has been voted one of the most beautiful in the UK..

There will be live music on board, provided by the Dave Clegg Duo, and complimentary hand massages and facials will be available on board. This month Quinn, a PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog will also join the journey.

There will also be several other little surprises along the way.

Travellers are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the ride.

Tickets may be purchased (normal price fare) at booking offices or ticket machines at stations.

Holders of a Railcard for the Disabled and their carers can travel at a reduced rate.
