Teen Nikita Smith took to the skies in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust recently.

The sporty 16-year-old, a student at Whitby Community College, decided to take on the challenge of a solo parachute jump - raising £1,348 - in support of her sister, Kacey, who suffers from the condition. Staff at Brigg Skydive Centre put Nikita through a 13 hour training session then whisked her 15,000ft up into the air before sending her out into the sky.

Nikita, who is competing in the British Ladies Motorcycle Trials championships, said: “It was certainly a fantastic experience. I would love to have gone straight back up and done it again.”
