A total of 32 shoeboxes, also called ‘Love Boxes’ were made up and £100 was also raised in support of the charity.

The shoeboxes were handed over to Caroline Wilkie from Children in Distress at the Remembrance Day service.

The boxes were blessed before being sent to those in need.

Sandy Boyens and her team of helpers worked tirelessly for the charity’s appeal dedicated to helping suffering children in the very worst circumstances.

Children in Distress helps children in the Balkans and eastern Europe, and supports clinics and orphanages to care for the sick, incurable or terminally ill, the physically handicapped, those with genetic or birth defects, those who are desperate, and the poorest of the poor.

The church is delighted with the success of the event and would like to say a big thank you to all who helped in any way.
