Whitby RUFC Maroons travelled to Medicals on Saturday, hoping to record their first win of the season, but left with a 34-0 defeat.
Missing several first team players, Whitby started poorly, allowing Medicals to break down the wing and score a converted try for a 7-0 lead in the opening five minutes.
Whitby grew into the game and rest of the half was a stalemate, leaving the score 7-0 to the hosts Medicals at the half-time interval.
The Maroons turned around and looked the stronger team, causing problems both up front and in the back line, with Medicals doing well to keep the score 7-0.
The hosts recovered though and their kicker struck a penalty to put the score at 10-0,
Whitby then suffered a heavy blow, losing a player to a red card with half-an-hour left on the clock.
The travelling Maroons imploded and Medicals took every chance they had, pushing the score to 34-0 at full time on a disappointing afternoon for Whitby, who remain rooted to the foot of the Durham/Northumberland One standings after winning promotion last season.
The Whitby side will be looking to bounce straight back this weekend when they take on West Hartlepool at the Showfield.
Their visitors are sitting in third spot in the table, having won seven of their eight games to date.
