Polling stations have closed across Scarborough borough and voting is now over for the General Election 2015.

Ballot boxes are on their way to the Scarborough Spa, ready for votes to be counted.

Parliamentary hopefuls are arriving at counts across the region, and tension is mounting.

In Scarborough, Conservative Robert Goodwill is hoping to be returned to Westminster as MP, 10 years after first winning the seat.

Lining up against Mr Goodwill are Labour’s Ian McIness, Michael Beckett of the Liberal Democrats, David Malone of the Green Party, Juliet Boddington of the Alliance for Green Socialism and UKIP’s Sam Cross

Voters have turned out to polling stations across the borough throughout the day, to have their say in one of the closest General Elections in years.
