THE Whitby Gazette continues its travels around this world – and this time, your favourite read ended up in Russia courtesy of Mike and Karen Sewell, of Hinderwell.
They sent us two photos of the Gazette taken on Solovetski Island in the White Sea.
They had just visited Murmansk and were on the way to Archangel.
Solovetski monastery is a Unesco site where orthodox Russian priest live in seclusion.
“On the way we saw beluga whales and white tailed eagles.
“Many locals asked why we were taking pictures of a local paper and thought it an old British custom,” they said.
“Note the Runswick Bay Rescue boat hat.”
