AROUND a tonne of unwanted goods were put to better use at a Give or Take day organised by Whitby Civic Society.
Over 150 people turned up to see if there was anything they could take away and re-use as well as dropping off items they didn’t need either.
All the goods were donated free of charge and included books, clothes, bric-a-brac, glassware, toys and kitchen items.
New homes were found for a set of golf clubs, a small table, an exercise bike, soft furnishings, several suitcases, roller boots, lounge chairs and many pictures.
The things that were left over at the end of the day were taken for recycling and £43 was taken in donations which will be used to cover costs of running the event which was held at West Cliff School.
