PEOPLE living in homes in the Whitby area run by Yorkshire Coast Homes can now contact the organisation by text.
The housing association has introduced a texting service to enable customers to contact them on a wide range of things.
This can include finding out their rent balance, reporting anti-social behaviour, finding out about an application for housing, contacting the association out of hours, getting information about the money management service and finding out how to get more involved with Yorkshire Coast Homes.
The introduction of the service follows a four-week trial in November last year, when customers were invited to register their mobile phone numbers with Yorkshire Coast Homes.
At the end of the trial a text survey asked customers if they liked the new service and out of 780 responses, 92.7% said it was a valuable method of getting in touch with Yorkshire Coast Homes and vice versa.
Yorkshire Coast Homes’s Head of Business Improvement and Information, Linda Woodward said: “We are always looking for the best ways to communicate with our customers and to make it as easy as possible for them to contact us. Texting is a very simple and very popular method of communication and we are pleased to be able to offer this service and are sure it will be a great help. It also helps us to deliver Value for Money for our customers and the organisation”
The main benefits are that the service is available even when the offices are closed and it is cheap and quick.
To register a mobile phone number customers should text REG followed by their surname and postcode to (07944) 874 874 or contact the Customer Services Team on 0845 065 5656.
