A pink tractor will be driven through Whitby on Sunday evening to raise awareness of breast cancer research.
Rochdale restaurateur Mark Whickam is hoping to complete an epic cross-country drive on board a vintage 1952 Massey-Ferguson tractor.
“It takes a real man to drive a pink tractor,” he said.
With a weather forecast of five degrees and snow during his journey, Mr Whickam will be wrapping up warm for his journey and hoping for a warm drink when he arrives at Whitby’s Black Horse public house on Church Street.
“At the end of the day, it’s to get people to check themselves for the early signs of cancer,” explained Mr Whickam. “The amount of people I know with cancer, it’s frightening.”
If all goes to plan, the tractor should be arriving in Whitby at around 8pm on Sunday evening.
