WHITBY residents are being invited to join Parkinson’s UK for a fund-raising stroll down the Yorkshire coast.
There are two walks to choose from, a seven mile stroll from Robin Hood’s Bay to Whitby, or a 21 mile hike from Scarborough to Whitby, with both taking place on Saturday 21 May.
The routes will allow walkers to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, while at the same time helping to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
Sally Watson, regional fund-raiser at Parkinson’s UK, said: “We hope that as many people as possible will join us for a fantastic day out in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. The walk is amazing and I’m certain people will enjoy seeing parts of the coastline they haven’t visited before.
“All funds raised will be used to support people living with Parkinson’s in the Yorkshire and Humberside area.”
The challenge walk starts at 8am in Scarborough and follows the Cleveland Way to Ravenscar where walkers will stop for lunch. Walkers will then continue north, passing through Robin Hood’s Bay, before arriving in Whitby.
Transport will be provided from Whitby to the start of each walk.
Entry costs £5 for the seven mile walk or £10 for the 21 mile walk, including lunch.
