The Marquis and Marchioness of Normanby were the guests of honour at the opening of a new extension at a Whitby care home on Tuesday.
The party at Peregrine House began at 3pm with entertainment for residents and guests followed by the unveiling of a plaque.
The new extension includes 11 new bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms and an enlarged lounge/dining room.
The designs for the extension were done by award winning Yorkshire architechts Brierley Groom while the building work was carried out by Whitby firm JD Roach. The project will be entered into the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.
