Groups benefit from Whitby Jets funds

LOCAL groups in Whitby have benefited from over £3000 worth of cash handouts after the disbandment of musical outfit Whitby Jets.

The group finished last year after 30 years but there was still money left in the bank accounts so at the final committee meeting members decided where it would go.

£500 was given to each of the following: Whitby Lifeboat, Whitby Seals, Whitby Brownies, East Side Community centre, Great North Air Ambulance and the cancer ward 19 at James Cook Hospital.

Coliseum Kids, the Salvation Army and Save Our Strays were handed £100 and £50 went to Whitby DAG.

Pam Durant who used to run Whitby Jets thanks parents, members and businesses who have supported the group over the years.
