A song by a Castleton-born artist, written while he was staying in Robin Hood's Bay, has been chosen as the main theme for Formula One coverage in America by ESPN.
Singer-songwriter Alistair Griffin is going global with his song Just Drive, which is already the main title theme on Sky Sports F1 in the UK.
Alistair, who headlined last year's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, said: "It's one of those songs that has a life of its own. It has grown and grown and now it's going to be heard by a new audience in the States."
When Sky made Just Drive its theme in 2012, Alistair was signed by Dramatico Records. the label of Katie Melua, and released the album Albion Sky to some acclaim.
He said there's been interest from labels in America too this time round, but he's keeping his cards close to his chest.
He added: "It's a global sport so when something like this lands there's always potential to springboard a release off the back of it. I've had a few calls but I haven't booked my plane ticket yet."
Alistair says he penned the song whilst staying in Robin Hoods Bay one weekend and he thinks he may head back to the Bay for inspiration.
"Who doesn't love Robin Hoods Bay? I don't go in much for arty writing trips but something definitely inspired me that weekend."
