AN abandoned dog which collapsed in a local shop from exhaustion is now on the lookout for a forever home.
The German Shepherd has since been recovering from her ordeal at Whitby Dog Rescue and although she has some limiting health conditions, staff say she will still make the perfect companion for someone.
Flower, thought to be around seven years old, collapsed on the floor of Helredale Shop on a very hot day in August. Kind-hearted staff wrapped her in cool towels until Whitby Dog Rescue collected her.
She was kept at Scarborough Dog Pound for seven days but no-one came to collect her.
She has dysplacia which means her back legs are very weak yet her front legs and upper body are sound.
She will never recover from the condition and receives pain relief and steroids and can potter around but is unable to walk any distance.
A local appeal was started to buy her some wheels which support her back end so she can get about on flat surfaces.
Whitby Dog Rescue says she has a gentle and beautiful nature and would love a home with someone who understands her needs.
