Five fire crews team up to tackle kitchen blaze at Cresswell Arms, near Malton

Crews from five different stations were called to tackle the blaze at the Cresswell Arms, off the B1257 in Appleton-le-Street, at 4.43pm.
People living nearby were asked to close their windows while they dealt with the fire and tried to stop flames spreading to other buildings.

Hide AdCrews from Malton, Pickering, Sherburn, Helmsley and the aerial ladder platform from Scarborough were deployed.
North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group said the road was shut yesterday and diversions were in place.
Crews have been at the pub damping down and hotspotting all night, and say they will be there throughout today.
The full extent of the damage is not yet known but it is understood to be substantial.
