Festival promises beer, cider and art

It will be all cheer and beers in October when the Scarborough Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) holds its inaugural festival.

The first Scarborough Real Ale, Cider and Arts Festival 2016 will be held in the Old Parcels Office, Scarborough Station, between Thursday 13 October and Saturday 15 October.

The three-day festival, organised by CAMRA in conjunction with The Campaign for Real Art, will feature 60 different real ales, including some of the best brewed locally, will be available.

Fifteen of them will be dispensed by hand pumps and 45 served by gravity, direct from the cask. 15 real ciders will also be available.

The opening hours will be noon to 10:30pm on Thursday and Friday, and 12 noon until sell out on Saturday.

Admission will be £5, and £3 to card carrying CAMRA members.

Les Gallienne, festival organiser, said: “We are delighted to be organising the first CAMRA Real Ale Festival in Scarborough.”
