Family tradition still on course

Four generations of the same family returned to Whitby to indulge in their favourite seaside past-time - crazy golf.

Thirty-three years ago Barry Toft, now 67, came for a holiday with his young family but the entourage extended to aunts, uncles, cousins, children and grandchildren travelling from Birmingham, Swansea and even Rome for what became a family tradition. His brother-in-law Kevin Kearney (68) has been collecting free passes, won from the lucky tenth hole at the Arnold Palmer course since the late 90s, and even used one this year. Barry said: “We had such a fabulous holiday in Whitby with our young kids, we kept coming back and more family joined us each year.”
