Facial fuzz will be causing a buzz in Robin Hood's Bay this weekend for the seaside village's Bay Beard Festival.

Captain Peabody Fawcett and chums will be popping into Berties of Bay to have a quick peek at some of the fabulous furry faces on offer this Sunday at 1pm to raise money for cancer charities.

Organisers are encouraging everyone to be creative draw, paint or grow something to enter a competition of beards down the bank in Robin Hood’s Bay, an area renowned for its great ‘hairytage’.

Laura Hepburn, Director from Berties, said: “You can create whatever you like for ‘Movember’ – it’s not just a man thing anymore, we need to embrace the face and raise cash with a tash for such an amazing cause.

“Prizes will be given and top advice and products from the leading beard connoisseur in the UK and a few familiar furry faces.”

Richie from Captain Fawcett, a beard advisor to the stars, in major blockbuster films and programmes.

The live entertainment kicks off at 12.30pm, with the beards down the bank competition scheduled for 1pm. Winners will be annoucned afterwards.
