WHITBY residents will be able to get back the garden waste they have recycled with a soil improver giveaway.
Seventy tonnes will be given out across Whitby, Scarborough and Filey in a three day event.
The soil improver is the end result of the composting process at Scarborough Resource Recovery Centre which used garden waste collected within the borough in brown bins and biodegradable sack schemes.
The soil is being handed out at the West Cliff car park on Thursday 24 March, 4pm-7pm, on a first come first served basis.
Harry Briggs, recycling and waste enforcement unit at Scarborough Borough Council, said: “The soil improver is full of essential plant nutrients and is fantastic for any garden. Brown garden waste bins will also be available to buy on the day of an event at a reduced price of £15 and not only that but residents will also be able to drop off any unwanted or broken electrical items too.”
