WHITBY’S three upper schools will be affected on Tuesday as teachers go on strike.
Eskdale and Caedmon are closed to pupils while and Whitby Community College students may have to join other classes.
Industrial action being is being taken by members of the NASUWT teacher’s union in response to pay cuts and working conditions.
Over the last year there has been low-key action taking place but union officials say it has been ignored by the coalition government.
They added that the strike was a “last resort” because of the refusal to talk to unions.
There is set to be another strike before Christmas.
