Whitby's two teams had a tough day at the office on Saturday, with both the firsts and seconds slipping to defeat.
The first team lost out by five wickets against Blackhall in the North Yorkshire & South Durham Cricket League Division One.
Whitby won the toss and elected to bat, a decision they may have regretted as they found themselves on 5-2.
James Fawcett came in at three and made a ponderous 50 and a 30 followed from Paul Buck, one of only three scores in double figures in an innings of 107.
Whitby made a confident start in the reply, with Blackhall being reduced to 19-2, but despite figures of 3-32 from Fin Morris, they made it over the line with plenty of overs remaining.
Whitby 2nds lost by five wickets against Norton 2nds in Division Three.
Only Andrew Marshall with 2-47 shone as Norton made a total of 253-7 declared.
Whitby's openers could only muster the one run between them, but 46 from Ian Suckling, 31 from Chris Lyth and 89 from Marshall gave them hope.
But in the end they ran out of wickets and Norton collected the win.
