A DOG died after falling over 100 feet from the top of the cliffs near Robin Hood’s Bay.

The springer spaniel was being walked by its owners who alerted the Humber Coastguard when it fell on Wednesday afternoon.

Whitby’s inshore lifeboat was scrambled just after 2pm and recovered the dog near North Cheek but it had died from its injuries.

They took the body to the slipway at Robin Hood’s Bay where its owners and the coastguard were waiting.
