Danby to celebrate Tour and Park anniversary

With routes announced for the second Tour de Yorkshire, the Whitby area is already planning to welcome the riders.

The Moors National Park Centre at Danby is celebrating the anniversary of becoming a National Park visitor centre in on May 1, 1976, so will combine the two with a big screen showing the race, a circus skills workshop, pedal-powered scalextric and chance to have a go on a penny farthing.

Richard Gunton, director of park services said: “The Cycling Festival will be a great way for families to relax, make a full day out of the Tour de Yorkshire experience and find out just how good the North York Moors is for road and off-road cycling.”
